Do I need a Fishing License, and where do I get one?
Everyone in the boat over the age of 16 will need a fishing license. By far the best option for anyone who does not have an Oklahoma or Texas fishing license is to get a Lake Texoma Fishing License. This license is only $12.00 and it is good for the calendar year in which it was purchased.
You can purchase a license at any Wal-mart, and most stores around Lake Texoma can sell you an Oklahoma, or Lake Texoma fishing license. Alternatively, you may purchase your Fishing License online from the Oklahoma Wildlife Deparment. For more information about Fishing Licenses, please visit the Oklahoma Wildlife Department Website.
We obey all local laws and legislation. Please make sure that if you are required to have a fishing license, you have one. Some people may not be required to have a license, particularly if you are under the age of 16, or over the age of 64. Please consult the Oklahoma Wildlife Department website to be sure. Game Wardens do patrol the lake and ask to see Fishing Licenses from time to time.
